Timber Wolf Lake!

We have been at camp for over 2 weeks now and it's GREAT! I work in the office every day for 6-8 hours, depending whether it's a regular day (6 hrs) or the first or last day with campers (8 hrs or more). Mitch works in the kitchen in the mornings, starting at 6 or 6:30, and then is done around 2 or 3, quite a long day! He also is playing the drums every day during club, which is when everyone sings fun songs, there are funny skits, and bible teaching. When we;re not working we get to help with the games and activities, which usually involve getting messy somehow....either sand, water balloons, shaving cream, water + flour, mud, & sometimes cut-open glow sticks.

Arlene, my youngest sister, was a camper last week. We got to do the zip line, blob, and go swimming together. So that was pretty fun. We waited about 30 minutes to do the blob because someone was feeling nervous to jump off, but then when she finally went we were feeling pretty nervous to jump off! But we did, and it was awesome!

Tomorrow is our last week of Wyldlife (middle schoolers), then we have 2 sessions of Younglife (high schoolers), so that should be fun. We are all excited because YL camp has a different menu, which will be refreshing! I've had chicken strips, pizza, tater tots, & sloppy joes each at least 3 times in the last two weeks, we're ready for a change!

Mitch, Jenna, and I have really enjoyed meeting and working with all the great people here. The summer staff is great, we've celebrated two birthdays already, one involved a "Paul Bunyan" which is a large cast iron skillet FILLED with ice cream, cookies, candy, & toppings, about enough to feed 30 people easily! The other birthday involved a new Justin Bieber poster and enough watermelon for about 30 people.

It's been a great time so far, we love being here at Timber Wolf Lake! It brings back great memories from when I was a camper in 2002! BLACK BEAR! And it's really awesome to make new memories this summer!

Next up is CHINA! We're getting ready and looking forward to our next adventure this summer!

Free Chick-Fil-A Spicy Sandwiches

The garage sale was a success! We raised a good chunk of $$ for our trip to China. Thanks everyone who came to the sale and bought our stuff! Also a BIG thanks to everyone who donated items for the sale, we had a ton of stuff, a good variety...as noted in a previous post, this was "one of the weirdest sales" some guy had every been to, I guess that's a compliment.

After our wildly successful garage sale (shown here at lockdown status in preparation for night & rain - note the random RV mud flap haha, just one of the many unique finds we had),

we were very hungry.

Chick-Fil-A had a cool offer this summer where customers could sign up to try their new Spicy Chicken Sandwich, for FREE! So Alice signed us all up, and we drove out to the Mishawaka location to give it a whirl. Arlene, Alice's youngest sister, came out with us, and we planned to buy her a meal since we just had 5 coupons. Well when we got there, they led us to the special VIP section, and then told us that they'd be giving us all our entire meals for free, including the 6th meal. We ordered from the little menus at the table, chose our drinks and side items, and they brought everything out to us, including the delicious new Spicy Chicken Sandwiches. They were really good, with a nice, not gross, spicy flavor. Typically I am not a fan of spicy chicken, especially buffalo chicken and all of that nonsense, but this sandwich impressed me. Enough about the food. See the picture for the ambiance. Sorry for the weird face my dad made, and the fact that this was taken on Jenna's cell phone so she didn't make it into the kinda blurry, kinda washed-out photo.

So anyways, we're packing now, we leave for Timber Wolf Lake tomorrow at noon. EEK
